  1. Interesting view of lower part of Stanley Street as it was. My wife Mary and I purchased number23 furher up on our marriage in October 1955.

    • Well remember Ernest & Mary from the 50’s in Stanley Street. They had a dog called Flash. Good neighbours who were always pleasant. Ernest did a lot of quality work on number 7 when I had to uprate the property as a mortgage requirement.

  2. This photograph sent by walking mate Pete Draper shows my old house without the roof. My parents lived in this property prior to me buying it from them.
My grandparents Ernest & Nellie Batterham lived next door at number 5. I moved from number 7 to live in Kirkcroft Drive when redevelopment plans were made.
The back yard was covered in second hand bricks laid by grandad Ernest. Thanks Peter for the memory. The food is on me when next we brave the trails of The Peak.
