  1. I love this photo of Manor Farm and I wish I had one. My dad, Tom Bartholomew, was born here in 1920 and it was in the room behind the middle window. The Bartholomew family farmed there before the Habberjam family came and afterwards they moved on to Comberwood Farm. My dad must have been six then. He had two brothers Jack and Ted. He told me of how he would ride in the horse and cart when my grandma was delivering the milk.
I have a vivid memory of skipping past the farm when I was small and feeling elated that I was six and growing up. I remember that it was a beautiful summer’s day and there was an aeroplane droning in the sky. It is doubtful that there would have been a single car pass by. All was well with my world.
Does anyone else feel the sun was always shining in their childhood memories?
I feel sorry that the farmhouse has been demolished. It was part of my childhood and I would pass it every day going to and from school and when I was going on to the Delves estate to find some playmates. I do hope that when the new houses are built on the sight they will look worthy of being there.

  2. Thanks for showing these photos margaret wished i had some to show it shows what life was like on the farm it was hard graft then
