You are right about the venue and occasion John. Do you remember that at the end of the day we had a grand finale and the Crockery Smash helpers were invited to demolish all the remaining crockery which brought a conclusion to a very enjoyable day.
Was this at the Church Fete held in the old Rectory Gardens on High Street, as I was involved in a crockery smash there, with Geoff, Arthur, Keith, and probably Derek, as we were all mates at that time.
I also remember that when we were taking the stall down at the end of the day, a wooden spar at the top of the stall became loose and fell on me and smashed my glasses!
I seem to remember that I was able to claim the new ones on the Church’s insurance.
