  1. I was most suprised to see a photograph of my uncle on this site. He is not Colin Frost but William Herbert Frost 1920 – 2011.
    At 17 years of age he volunteered for Naval service and trained to be a Wireless Telegraphist from 1937 to 1945. He served onboard HMS SHEFFIELD before becoming a submariner and then on HMS TRIBUNE and HMS TUDOR. At this time he atained the rank of LEADING TELEGRAPHIST.
    He served in the Atlantic. Medeterainian and the FarEast. His awards are –

    1939-45 STAR
    ATLANTIC STAR
    AFRICA STAR with clasp – NORTH AFRIC 1942 – 1943
    BURMA STAR
    WAR MEDAL 1939 – 1945

    He was born in Killamarsh, the son of John William and Ethel Maud Frost and brother to Colin, Robert Henry and Jessie Frost.
