Hi I am trying to find out some information about Elsie Armstrong who became Mayor of Derby in 1967. Is this Elsie Armstrong the same person? Does anyone have any further information about this Elsie Armstrong? Can anyone help?
Yes that’s correct . Ron West was my uncle and Miss Cook became my Aunt Edna . She taught later at Lady Manners in Bakewell and was well into her 90’s when she died . My mother was Rons sister
miss cook married les west not ron and was my aunt also she taught at secondary school norwood. they lived in prefabs later at rotherham road norwood then moved to balmoak lane chesterfield, les was head at netherthorpe school,if i remember correctly
