Clifford Hall known siblings, all born Killamarsh. Fred, Edith, Eliza, Bert, Ernest, Arthur, John W, George, all born between 1883-1906 approx. Parents George and Annie Elizabeth, more to follow. Two different Hall families known in Killamarsh, more to follow
My Grandfather lived in Burley in Wharfedale but he came from Killamarsh and his name was Clifford Hall. As far as I know, as well as working in Westthorpe pit, he did some haulage. This is a picture of his wagon. It looks like a celebration of some sort. The gentleman in the photo is not my Grandfather.
I remember him telling me that they also dug wells for people and that they used to take in Shire horses from Sheffield so they could have some time on grass and a break from the hard labour in the steelworks.
He had a few brothers so maybe there are still some Halls living in Killamarsh.
