Hi Vicki, No this is, or was, the second or Woodhall Pond the other being Killamarsh Pond. The photo was taken around 1967 when the Nethergreen Club had fishing rights then. There was a sign which claimed that the ‘reservoir’ contained 400 million gallons of water. It was built, like Killamarsh Pond, to supply the canal lock system at Norwwod. I believe it was drained around 1980 because of mining from High Moor Pit. It’s a shame because there was some good fishing to be done there and as you comment, it looked great. Spent many a day fishing there 1961 – 65 and wandering through the nearby woods. Great Times.
